When I say Traditional Sauna you probably picture a group of people sitting around in towels sweating in a big room. Sauna's have come a long way since your typical gym sauna picture. We are introducing a series that will highlight why Far Infrared Saunas are so important and how they can benefit so many aspects of health and wellness.
What's the difference between a Traditional and Far-Infrared Sauna?
Traditional Saunas use convection heat either through electrical elements for wood fuel. This is used to heat the air surrounding you and the room. Traditional saunas can take almost an hour for the individual to experience any real health benefits. Since it is heating up the air around you, it is not having many internal or immunity boosting benefits. Good for sweating out toxins and to loose water weight quickly, but if you are seeking long-term health benefits a Far Infrared Sauna is the wiser choice.
A Far Infrared Sauna uses radiant heat. This type of heat seeps directly into the physiological network of the body and works on a cellular & molecular level. The cells basically get activated and excited when your body responds to the frequency and the absorption of the light. Far Saunas do not need to be "preheated" to reap benefits. Exposing the body to the radiance of the light automatically has a powerful effect on the physiological make-up without having the heat at high temps (although we will go over the different temps and benefits it can have).
When you enter into a Far Sauna it is like a "light bath". The broad spectrum of light, invisible to the eye, penetrates into the skin membrane reaching the soft tissues of the body. By doing so the core temperature of the body is increasing from the inside out and does not rely on high external temperature. When it penetrates the soft tissue, cellular mechanisms start responding in excitement. When this occurs you will experience benefits such as:
-Production of new brain cells
-Increased collagen production
-Accelerated production of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) which is responsible for increasing muscle tone and decreasing fatty tissue
-Improved insulin sensitivity which is necessary for the treatment of Type I Diabetes
-Heightened ATP production which aides in oxygenating the blood (so improved circulation)
-Improved balance of Serotonin production which assists in stabilizing moods
-Improved Endocrine functioning which is important for adrenal health (better energy and decreased brain fog)
-Faster injury recovery (including skeletal, connective tissue and muscle repair)
-Enhanced Lymphatic System functioning which is imperative to many body functions
Be sure to find a Far Sauna that has low EMF's (electromagnetic fields) as long periods of exposure can lead to issues with your body's natural electrical functionality.
We will be breaking down areas that the Far Sauna has for the body each week. Be sure to check back weekly to learn how scheduling your sauna session can improve your life!
